Head of Clinical Operations Unit Sabine Kläger is Head of Clinical Operations Unit based in ECRIN’s central Paris office, overseeing the clinical study portfolio, managing access to ECRIN services and resources. She has over 30 years of experience in biomedical research; initially as researcher and lecturer in the field of parasitology and infectious diseases, including involvement in drug development programmes from phase I to phase III, mass treatment programmes across endemic areas (Africa, South America), and epidemiological surveys. Later, she worked in academic R&D offices on Regulatory Affairs (Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital London and Cambridge University Hospitals), ensuring the implementation and maintenance of Sponsor requirements in compliance with the EU Directives on Clinical Trials. As Operations Director, she was instrumental in the set-up, and operational and strategic management of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit. She is serving as member and chair on different DMSCs for drug trials, which are currently running across several Sub-Saharan and Asian countries. She has an MSc (Biology) and PhD from the University of Tübingen, Germany; and an MSc (Epidemiology) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London.
